Amine Hachem as Apsu, God of Water, in the opera Gilgamesh

Amine Hachem recently performed the tenor role of Apsu, god of water and creator of life, in the world premiere of Gilgamesh at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center in California on March 28 and 29.

Sung in both English and Akkadian, one of the world’s oldest recorded languages, the role draws from humanity’s earliest epic and brings its timeless themes to the modern operatic stage.
